Remote Home Learning

Remote Home Learning

Addington Valley recognises the unprecedented nature of the current pandemic and the effect it can have on our families. Some of our families have decided to keep their children at home during this time, we completely support that decision and want to do our very best to continue the excellent progress that our students make. As such we have an extensive and individualised online package that combines all school, small group and individual lessons to best cater to our student’s needs.

All of our lessons are live with the teacher or teaching assistant, we feel that this personalised approach works best for our students. Families receive a printed work pack and materials weekly that support the online lessons.

Where some of our students are unable or unwilling to engage with video calls then we deliver a more extensive and individualised alternative work pack home every week.

Therapies also continue to be offered online. These consist of 1:1 and small group sessions. Words of the week with a support pack and an online video tutorial are sent to every family.

We are in constant contact with our families to offer support. We will call once a week to families who are able to engage with our online teaching and twice a week to those who are working from the paper based work packs.
