At Addington Valley Academy, we understand the importance of collaboration between home and school for the success of every child, especially those with Special Educational Needs. We work closely with families to ensure that every child receives the support they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Through open communication, personalised support plans, and regular updates, we empower families to be active participants in their child’s education journey. Together, we create a supportive and inclusive environment where every child can reach their full potential.

Family Support Worker

We are delighted to introduce Christina Farr, our dedicated Family Support Worker, who plays a vital role in our commitment to providing comprehensive support for our students and their families. With her compassionate approach, Christina offers invaluable assistance to AVA families, ensuring they access the guidance and resources they need to ensure the best outcomes for their child. Christina aims to establish trusting relationships with families, offering personalised support tailored to their unique circumstances such as providing emotional support, support with applications, facilitating access to community resources, or offering practical guidance.

Along side our Family support worker, Addington Valley offers a tiered support offer

Universal offer – available to all Addington Valley Families

Targeted – a supportive offer tailored to the needs of the pupil and their family.

Specific – Person-specific offer. Specific actions and resources to support identified families who may be of higher need or more vulnerable. This offer is often in response to crisis, or in proactive crisis aversion.
