Addington Valley Academy is a co-educational special school specialising in autism and complex needs and addresses the social communication, cognitive, sensory and social, emotional, and behavioural needs of pupils aged 2 – 19.
This section provides key information including how the school spends the funding it receives, its policies and procedures, how students perform in exams and assessment, inspection information and the schools self-evaluation.
At Addington Valley Academy we specialise in providing a high quality learning environment, curriculum and specialist support for students with autism, and a range of complex needs.
We acknowledge that student attendance is essential for students to get the most of out their school experience and wider life chances. However there may be times when a student is unable to attend school but remains able to engage in learning, for example due to school closures or restrictions on attendance, where school access for students is restricted or individual cases where a student is unable to attend school but is able to learn (DfE Remote Learning Guidance.)
In consultation with parents and carers, the class teacher will be able to provide a Home Learning Pack for students to complete at their own pace.
Please see our sample home learning pack, which illustrates how this provision may be implemented.
