Addington Valley Academy celebrates Skills Builder Silver Award

We are excited to share that Addington Valley Academy has achieved the Skills Builder Silver Award, recognising our commitment to developing the essential transferable skills our pupils need to thrive in education, employment and later life.

The Skills Builder Award celebrates schools and colleges that are embedding essential skills development across their provision. These skills help young people to communicate effectively, work well with others, solve problems and approach new experiences with confidence.

Achieving the Silver Award reflects the work taking place across Addington Valley Academy to ensure that preparing pupils for their futures is an integral part of their education. Alongside our wider careers offer, we provide opportunities for pupils to develop and practise transferable skills in meaningful ways, helping them to build greater independence and prepare for their next steps.

The accreditation is also recognition of the commitment of our staff, who work to ensure that skills development is embedded throughout pupils’ experiences at the Academy.

We are proud to have achieved Silver and look forward to continuing to build on this work, strengthening the opportunities we provide and supporting every pupil to develop the skills, confidence and aspirations they need for the future.
